De FA-geleiderring wordt voornamelijk gebruikt om de zuiger in de cilindervat te begeleiden en te ondersteunen.De binnendiameter van de FA-ondersteuningsring heeft een speciaal U-vormig profiel dat in de groef kan worden vergrendeld om verplaatsing van de leidingsring te voorkomen.Het aantal leidingsringen kan worden aangepast aan de grootte van de zijdelingse belastingen in de cilinders. FA-ondersteuningsringen worden gewoonlijk geproduceerd met een hoekvormige of een rechte snit om de installatie te vergemakkelijken.
